Jafari Sadat is a descendant of Imam Ja’far sadiq, except for the children of Imam Musa Kazim, who are called Musavi or Kazemi Sadat , and Isma’il, who may called Ismailis, the rest can be considered as Ja’fari Sadat .
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) is the sixth Shi’a Imam and the son of Imam Muhammad baqir (a) who was martyred by poisoning in 148/688.
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) was born in Medina in 83/662 and during his imamate, he revived Shi’a religion and the Religion of the Prophet Muhammad (s). His father, Imam Muhammad Baqir, and his mother, um Forouh, the daughter of Qasim, the son of Muhammad bin Abu Bakr.
Imam al-Sadiq (a) (Ja’far b. Muhammad b. ‘Ali b. ‘Ali b. ‘Ali b. Abi Talib) was born in Medina on 17 Rabi’a al-Awwal in 83/832. Some have mentioned his source of birth in 80/681. His grandfather, Imam al-Sajjad (a), their great father, Imam Muhammad Baqir (a), and their mother, known as um Forouh, are the daughter of Qasim b. Muhammad b. Abi Bakr.
For 34 years, Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (Ja’far, meaning the current stream of benefits) was the Imamate of Shi’a and was able to revive Shi’a religion among Muslims through great efforts. His imamate was at the same time with the caliphate of the last five Umayyad caliphs, namely from Hisham b. ‘Abd al-Malik onwards, and the first two caliphs were Abbasids of Saffah and Mansur Davaniqi. One of his most famous tehsims is Abu Abdullah, Abu Isma’il, and Abu Musa.
According to most sources, he had seven sons and three daughters. Imam Musa al-Kazim (a), the seventh Shi’a Imam, is one of the children of this great Imam whose mother’s name is Hamida, daughter of Sa’ed or Salih.
Isma’il, ‘Abd Allah, Um Forouh, whose mother of these three was Fatima, daughter of Husayn b. ‘Ali al-Sajad,
Musa, Ishaq, Muhammad, whose mother named Hamida Barbariyya,
And Abbas, Ali, Asma, Fatima
Isma’il was the greatest among the brothers, and Hazrat Sadiq (a.s.) loved him more than other children, and he was best kind to him, and some Shiites thought he was imam after his father. Isma’il was buried in wide during the days of his great father, and the devotees of Hazrat Sadiq (pbuh) carried his body, brought his father’s presence in Medina and buried him in al-Baqi’.
After Isma’il, ‘Abd Allah was the greatest son of Imam al-Sadiq (a), but if his father should not respect him and disagree with his great father in terms of beliefs and creeds, he would go to Hashuyeh and tend to Marja’i religion and after his father claimed imamate and said: Since I am the descendant of Akbar, the Imamate is my right, and on this occasion, some of the companions of Hazrat Sadiq (pbuh) believed in him.
Fortunately, it was not long before many of them returned from him, and to the imamate of Musa b. Ja’far al-Sayyidi, the great and the supreme Imam, the truth and the dignity of his Imamate were revealed to all, and at the same time a few of them, in their opinion, put the remaining Abdullah in the forefront. He was chosen and they beg him as Fatih because ‘Abd Allah was a broad-legged man and the person who is like this is called Iftih.
He was a good scientist, a pious man, a mujtahid, and people have narrated hadiths and works from him. Whenever Ibn Kasb narrated a hadith from him, he said: “Hadsin al-Thaqat al-Razi Ishaq b. Ja’far, Ishaq knew his brother, Moses b. Ja’far, to the Imamate and narrated from his father about the imamate of the Prophet (s).
He was a brave and generous man, fasting the day and iftar and agreeing with Zaydiyya and believing in uprising and struggle.
Many hadiths have been narrated and always dealt with with caution and the greatness of the pious and the scientist, and he was always in need with his brother, Prophet Moses b. Ja’far (a). And many news of the Prophet (s) has narrated.
He was a great man.
The greatest son of Imam al-Sadiq (a) was his greatest and publicly renowned, and in his era, he was not as generous and honorable as he was, and he was more pious and pious than all people. His mother’s name is Hamida Barbari.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of Imam al-Sadiq (a) is his abundant knowledge. Imam al-Sadiq (a) had much more scientific activity than other Shi’a Imams because of the weakness of the Umayyad government. Imam al-Sadiq was very ascetic, worshiping, fasting, and reciting the Qur’an. He helped the poor a lot and spent most nights anonymously feeding the poor, so that his generosity was spoken among the people.
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) was martyred on the twenty-five shawals of 148/688 and at the age of 65 due to poisoning. His holy shrine is located in al-Baqi’a cemetery located in Medina, Al-Munwarah, next to the grave of his father, father, and uncle, Imam Hasan Mujtaba (pbuh). In Iran, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam al-Sadiq (a) is an official holiday.
According to most people, including Al-Shaykh al-Saduq, Ibn Shahr Ashob, and Muhammad b. Jarir al-Tabari III, Imam al-Sadiq (a) was martyred by order of Mansur Davaniqi and by poisoning.
After the martyrdom of Imam al-Sadiq (a), different sects arose in Shi’a and each group considered one of his sons as Imam (a). Most Shiites accepted the imamate of Imam Musa al-Kazim (a) as the seventh Imam. A group of Shiites denied the death of Isma’il, the eldest son of Imam al-Sadiq (a), and considered him imam. A number of these groups, disappointed with Isma’il’s life, considered isma’il’s son, Muhammad, to be Imam. The group be be known as ismailis.
Others, ‘Abd Allah al-Iftah, the second son of Imam al-Sadiq (a), became known as Imam al-Fatima (a), but after his death, which occurred about 70 days after the martyrdom of Imam al-Sadiq (a), they believed in the imamate of Musa b. Ja’far (a). A number of people, following a person named Navos, stopped at the Imamate of Imam al-Sadiq (a) and created the sect of Navosiya. Some believed in the imamate of Muhammad dibaj, the other son of Imam al-Sadiq (a).
